Naturopathic medicine brings together the parts of the world that I enjoy the most. Nature and medicine! As a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, I am able to perform physical exams when required, request lab work (for a fee), diagnose conditions with this information and prescribe nutrition and supplements, intravenous therapies, botanical medicines, counselling, craniosacral therapy, prolotherapy and acupuncture as well as upcoming new therapies in the industry.
Currently, I am most interested in hormonal dysfunction, weight loss, digestion and anti-aging. Your hormones are the messengers of your body and a small problem (excess or deficiency) in one hormone can cause global symptoms throughout the body. This can even include effects on other hormones. Common diagnoses include: hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, hypogonadism, estrogen dominance or progesterone deficiency, PCOS, menopause and PMS. Weight and aging are common concerns that many of my patients are struggling with. Often there is an underlying problem that is hindering their efforts. Once we solve the issue, or improve the way in which the body works, we can make efforts more effective.
I also have an interest in heavy metal chelation. I find that when treatments are not seeming to work or a case is especially complex, we often find very high levels of toxic metals such as lead or mercury. I also treat a lot of chronic disorders including those which conventional medicine doesn’t treat particularly well, including digestive concerns such as IBS, SIBO, Chrohns or ulcerative colitis. IVs can be a great way to improve your energy and begin to get your life back when you just need to feel better quickly.
In my personal life, I’ve spent time living in several mountain towns in BC and I became an avid snowboarder and all-mountain biker. I stay active by running, hiking, biking, snowboarding, yoga and enjoy weight training as well. I believe it is very important to find activities that you enjoy in order to maintain fitness in your everyday life. This has also given me great interest in naturopathic sports medicine/ sports injuries and has driven me to training in prolotherapy to help heal some of the chronic injuries that are inevitable in such activities. After practicing in Calgary for 4 years, I’ve now made the move back to BC and call Kelowna my home!
I understand that health is a complicated task for most people. There are any number of things that get in our way but the most common barrier is time. We combine nutrition expertise, personal training and naturopathic treatments to give the most complete treatments to any of your health concerns. My focus is doing what is best for you!
Each person has elements that make them different from every other person. These elements might be on a mental, emotional or physical level but with our wide variety of professional services we can help on every level to get you where you want to be. Our first goal of treatment is to make you feel better and our second goal is to find and treat the cause. There is a synergistic relationship between the food we eat, the movement or exercise we perform and our overall mental well-being. The body does not heal selectively and to perform at your highest level, you must address all areas of health.
I am committed to the communities in the Kelowna and Okanagan areas and have an office within The Core Centre for Health in Downtown Kelowna where I provide Naturopathic consultations, therapeutic nutritional consulting and Naturopathic treatments, including IV therapies, prolotherapy, acupuncture and heavy metal chelation.

My name is Trevor Coombs and I am a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) and member in good standing with the CTCMA and ATCMA. I also hold diplomas in personal training and nutrition and have been successfully working with clients for over a decade.
As a very athletic and sport oriented person, I suffered many sports related injuries that were successfully treated with acupuncture. This sparked my interest in pursuing a career with acupuncture. I think many Canadians are aware of the benefits of acupuncture when it relates to pain and injury but are less aware that TCM acupuncture treats a whole host of disorders from depression and anxiety to headaches as well as conditions such as infertility. In fact, acupuncture can be used to treat many conditions and dysfunctions of health.
I have been fortunate enough to witness first-hand these successes with my patients and look forward to helping others achieve their optimal health. When working with my patients, I strive to integrate my anatomical knowledge, nutritional expertise, traditional and western acupuncture to provide the best treatments possible.
